Personality: George, in large part due to past experiences, is emotionally distant. He doesn't like to get too emotionally attached to anyone else after the disaster with Garnet, in a means to protect himself from further heartache and to keep his emotions from spiraling out of control. He is still social, but he keeps a personal detachment from those he is socializing with. Due to his apathy, he views everyone as prey. Although his fellow Henches/Vampire's are a step up and more superior then their main source of food, he still views them as being beneath him most of the time. And though the other Henches are not beings he ever pictures himself feeding from, he still views each individual of being advantageous to him. They have their uses, and he's not above using any of them or regular cats to further his own personal goals.
Despite his emotional absence, George is a Chameleonic. He may not be able to empathize with the emotions he tends to feel from others around him, but he is certainly affected by them. George has the odd ability to reflect back the emotions he feels, to his advantage. He can adjust his personality to match any given situation. He uses this as a means to gain the trust of others, or to make them laugh, to pique their interest, or to simulate sympathy and offer a comforting embrace and a free shoulder to lean on. No matter his change in demeanor, it always results in the same end; getting those he hunts to open up, drop their guard and reveal their vulnerable side. While some vampires will seek out other means to sustain themselves, go after cats no one will miss, or find the easy pickings(being in the right place at the right time), George prefers and loves a challenge.
He tends to scope out the local pubs, or clubs, huge gathering places for cats and will pick one depending on his mood. Sometimes its random, and sometimes he purposely chooses a cat that looks to be a challenging meal. His hunt of them, is more of a sport, something that both tests his abilities and keeps him entertained. He doesn't care for it to be turned into a mindless feeding frenzy or out of need. He prefers a more dignified approach to his hunts, and some of them even impress him enough to direct his hunt to someone else. George also prefers to acquaint himself with his prey before and during his hunt. Playing both the new understanding friend as well as the one causing the discomfort, paranoia, and ultimately pain. He isn't a coward however, as he will face his victims head on and give them about as fair of a fight as a vampire can give a cat. Make no mistakes, George is a true predator, and becoming quite a powerful vampire in his own right.
If George ever did step up and became more interested in the plights of others, at least with those of his own tribe. George would have all the makings of being a powerful leader, but does have the potential of becoming a natural leader. That aside, George has been on his own for the better part of a century and has no interest in attaching himself to others in any capacity; other then physical needs. Underneath his predatory ways, beyond that of his manipulation and deceit, George is lonely. He had never wanted or appreciated the lifestyle of a loner, before he was turned, and only adapted himself to learn to deal with it after he became a vampire. But buried and hidden away, is an unbearable loneliness and an unspoken need in him that requires and wants companionship. But after more then a century of living the life of a loner, of losing his ability to empathize, he won't even acknowledge this part of his being. He may hate the loner life, but he's grown rather content with status quo, and doesn't want to "rock the boat".
History: Born in the 1800's, George believes he was born in 1848. However, he's been living for so long, and has told so many different stories of his life(both before and after he became a vampire), that even he isn't sure when he was exactly born and what year it was when he had been turned. This might also be a lie, for unknown purposes. George may indeed remember most of his life, aside from the blurry transitional period when he first was turned into a vampire. However, George will explain different events in his life so many different times, that it makes one wonder if he is making it up for a specific reason or if he indeed has little to no memories of his past and thus is making it up so that he feels like he actually had a past.
Ironically, he does remember his parents commenting on how popular the name George was when he was born, and was the reason he got stuck with that name. He also remembers leaving the home of his parents after a disagreement he had with them. Though what that disagreement was, George would never comment on. This turning point in his life has been altered and changed so many times in his version of the truth, that the simple disagreement is now a war he had been having with his parents for years, that resulting in a physical blow to his cheek(by his father) and then a push out the front door and a "I never want to see your face again" thrown in for good measure. Honestly though, George can't remember ever having real negative feelings against either of his parents, even if he didn't see eye to eye with them.
There was a lengthy time being alone, as he had left his parents to start his own life around the age of sixteen. But the first big even in his life, and an event he tends to talk about every time a queen manages to catch his eye, is when Garnet stumbled into his life. This story, like everything else he'll talk about, gets embellished depending on his audience or what he might be using the story for. For entertainment, he'll recite it more as an adventure with nonstop action, if he's trying to seduce a queen, he'll romanticize the hell out of the story. But it's the first real incident in his life that is memorable to him, and was the beginning of the end of his normalcy. And something he never once regretted.
Garnet was a headstrong queen, and the first queen to show signs of returning George's feelings. There were other queens that George had fallen for, whether it was their personality, looks, or just being in the right place at the right time, but none of them really looked at him. Not like Garnet. She was one of those queens who knew what she wanted in life, including toms, and wouldn't settle for less no matter how much or how hard one tried to win her over. So George started his long suffering months of courting the buxom Garnet. They were frustrating months, but George wouldn't have traded them for anything. Eventually, Garnet caved to George's wooing technique's and they consummated their relationship and became official mates.
The two were very close, and very happy. They remained happily mated for three years, before some ruffians came into town and started singling Garnet out. George had no idea the three rowdy cats were vampires, having only heard tall tales of vampires twice in his life. Vampires were a myth a scary story to traumatize your children into listening and obeying you. He did peg them as troublemakers, with an eye for his mate. It made him uncomfortable, and weeks later Garnet was scared witless and nearly hysterical over their stalking. Afraid they were going to kill her. George was definitely worried that they'd try to have their way with her, or at the very least hurt her if they ever got a hold of her. So he had made a quick exit to get supplies in order to better protect Garnet and put her mind at ease.
While he was gone, the three vampires had made their move and crashed into George/Garnet's den. George wasn't gone for long, so he caught them in the middle of them kidnapping her. Being no match for a single vampire, let alone three, they easily overpowered him and left him unconscious for a "snack" later. The leader of the three wanted his fun with Garnet first. George had come to later on in the night. He immediately went off to track his Garnet down. The trail eventually lead him into the nearby woods, and George was able to catch the male vampire by surprise. The other two that had helped in the kidnapping were gone, leaving him alone with Garnet. He was in the process of feeding off of Garnet when George made his surprise attack. He was able to get his arms around and locked in a position, before the vampire had time to react and break his neck.
He had been too focused on Garnet to really comprehend the true horror of learning that vampires were real. And George has no idea how he managed to get the upperhand on the vampire. Perhaps his enjoyment with Garnet and the overwhelming senses of feeding off of her (as she was not resisting the feeding) had been too great for him to notice George's presence until his arms were around his neck, or maybe he had sensed George's approach and was too cocky in his abilities as well as his "Trophy", and underestimated George. Whatever the case was, George used the sharp dagger he brought along with him to protect him against Garnet's attackers, to begin cutting at the vampires neck. George had no idea if decapitation would work, but he felt it'd be the best solution. So desperate was he to keep the vampire away from his mate and him, and to get Garnet back home.
George thought that if vampire's could grow heads back, it'd take at least a day. Enough time to tend to Garnet and flee the city. Decapitating the vampire's head was a lot more difficult then they made it out to be in mythical tales, but George had done it, and had exhausted him in the meantime. Short of breath, and his arm muscles already aching, he barely had enough left in him to carry Garnet back to their home. George had tended to the wounds on Garnet, worrying more and more over his mates catatonia. However, exhaustion took over, and he allowed himself a five hour rest, before getting up, making the preparations, and then taking Garnet and getting out of the town they were residing in. He able to make it to the next town over, and was able to sleep quite soundly-believing at least temporarily, that they were safe.
The morning two days after the attack, when George fully awoke he learned Garnet was gone. His first reaction was to panic. Believing the ruffians, those vampires had once again returned and recaptured Garnet. However, he logically came to the conclusion that if that had been the case he never would have woken up to begin with. They would have killed him. That was when he came to realize that Garnet must have been turned into a vampire. And had enough left in her to put distance between them, not wanting George to be her first victim. Course this was only speculation on George's part as he couldn't think up another reason. He spent the next few weeks searching for Garnet or at least any mentions of a cat by that description, but his search, week after week kept turning up empty with no leads. He eventually gave up the search for Garnet. But that wasn't his only problem that he had to deal with.
Soon after he abandoned his search, a buff intimidating male tom managed to corner him. Resisting this male, only showed George that he was way out of his league. The tom was stronger then him, and could move so fast he couldn't even see it. It was quite easy to notice the male was a strong and powerful vampire. George was insightful enough to realize that this intervention was punishment for what he had done to the other vampire. However, he was stunned into speechlessness when he learned the male vampire now restraining him, had turned the vampire he killed and had a lot of stock in the now deceased vampire. George was sure he was going to die, but was once again surprised when the male begun to give him his own blood as he was feeding. He saw a lot of potential in George, and George initially accepted the blood enthusiastically (hoping it might reunite him with Garnet in the long run).
The transition was blurry and rather confusing to George. As, with most newly turned vampires, his feral hunger for blood diluted all else. His primal need to feed being the only thing driving him. His next vague recollection was standing over three dead cats, having taken his fill. He can't remember how or why he killed all three, but he had and he couldn't change that. He eventually returned back to the male who had turned him. He was taught more openly about the meaning of vampirism and about their culture and lore. He also began training, mainly to learn how to cope with so many new sensations and experiences, but George did display an interest in becoming more fit and learn how to properly defend himself and attack others. The thoughts of Garnet couldn't have been further from his mind then.
Soon afterwards, he left to be out on his own, once again. He not only needed to find himself again, as he had a whole new world to explore and saw things from a new perspective, he felt the sudden need to survive on his own. To prove himself to not only the one who turned him, but to other vampires in general. George, was also getting over his transition and the first new feelings, so his thoughts once again thought of Garnet. That was his other reason for going off alone, determined to show her he was a vampire too and they could be together. The next seven years for George were uneventful, and he was surviving just fine on his own, though his renewed search of Garnet brought little hope, aside from a few thin leads.
One of the leads, finally brought him hard evidence. He caught wind of her scent and once more in his life he tracked her down. Garnet was quite hostile with George upon his sudden return, and it was obvious that she was normal, that she hadn't been turned into a vampire; she had abandoned him. Her hostile emotions were also quite acute and were effecting George in adverse ways. He learned that she had blamed him for not being able to protect her, and when she remembers how he had looked when he was cutting frantically at the tom's neck. In that moment he had looked just as much as a monster the tom had been when he was feeding from her. Their fight erupted when Garnet learned that George was now a vampire.
One moment Garnet was screaming at him and reaching for the newest object that could be used as a weapon, and the next moment George found himself staring down at her lifeless body. Learning of Garnet's deception and abandonment, feeling her ire, and then reacting to her attacking him had sent him over the deep end. So much so that George couldn't even remember what he did. But they were far away from where the conflict started, and many hours had passed. The death of Garnet by his own mortified paws was yet another turning point in George's life. That was when he finally embraced every aspect of his new life without anything holding him back from his previous existence.
His life continued, and aside from some setbacks, and some interesting encounters-both with vampires and non-vampires, his life was no longer filled with unrequited love. All he had to do was look out for himself from that point on. Sure, he has many tales to tell, his life didn't just drift into a pointless rhythm. The local cats to three prior towns around England had pegged him as a trouble-maker, and possible murderer, and he had been run out of those three towns before he moved to London.
He's met a lot of interesting cats, some he fed off of, some he left alone, and others he killed. Just about the only thing George hasn't done, within the realm-as he has never traveled outside of England before, aside from Scotland, is turn a cat into a vampire himself. No one's really impressed him or stuck out to him for him to give into that urge. But aside from his years of experiences, none of them have really affected him or defined him such a way as Garnet did. The most of which his experiences since Garnets death of done, is to give him new material for dramatic or outlandish stories.
Roleplay Sample: A smirk worked its way onto his face as his eyes watched appreciatively at the white and grey fluff of a queen strutted down the darkened street. He had "accidentally" bumped into the gorgeous cat three days ago. After a respectable apology, and joking over his apparent clumsiness, the two quickly eased into small chit-chat. And it wasn't long before he noticed the female giving him signs of physical and intellectual attraction towards him. Being the clumsy easygoing tom, he had acted oblivious to her attraction and properly stuttered and flushed when she was blunt with it. Finding it endearing they had set up a date of sorts. He continued to watch from his nearly pitch black perch that he was resting on. Their date would be the next evening, and he couldn't wait. His mouth begin to water in anticipation, before he shook his head. George needed to get off those thoughts. Planning two or three steps ahead came naturally to him, but he rarely allowed himself to congratulate and assume it was a done deal, before it was. Stretching his back legs, he stealthily jumped down from his perch and used his ability to speed in a blur of motion down the street and around one of the corners. He continued to run, even after he was out of sight. His pace slowed to a halt, his eyes darkened, and his larger fangs dropped. He was alone now, and he spoke to himself. "Very soon now, Lya."
Comments: Sansa is teh greatest admin EVAH! (Of all time) <3
Also, Garnet could have been pregnant before the "attack", so George may have had a son, daughter, or a couple kittens, and thus could have descendants from this. So if you want your character to be his great-great-great...great? Grandson/Granddaughter, just PM. (I'd be fine with this, assuming this is viable for this board, Sansa... If not I'll edit this out)
