{TOLERANCE}
Here at Fractured Jellicles, it is expected that all players be tolerant of each other. There will be no criticizing others writing abilities or creativity. All roleplay is valid as long as it is delivered with sincerity. Roleplayers are welcome from any country, even if English is not their first language. Only a fundamental grasp of English language and grammar is required, as long as the roleplayers are doing their best. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you are unsure of anything!
{NON-MODDING AND OOC ISSUES}
There will be no drama or bullying of any kind allowed on the board. If you have any issues with another member, or see any issues arising, contact a staff member immediately and they will sort it out. Do not non-mod; that is, acting as a staff member if you are not one. Do not change major plot lines, make rulings on out-of-character situations, accept characters, etc.
{CONSENT}
All roleplay here is consensual. This means that you should always be aware of another players likes and dislikes, as well as their limits. If you are asked by another roleplayer to stop a thread or character action, then you must stop. Absolutely no godmodding will be allowed. Godmodding is taking control of another player's character during roleplay.
{MATURE THEMES}
ProBoards prohibits content that:
Obviously, the nature of this roleplay leans toward mature/violent themes. Your staff cannot publicly allow R-rated (and above) content anywhere on the board. That being said, your staff also does not have control over what users post in private messages.
{MATURE THEMES - UNDERAGE}
Underage smut is illegal in the United States. If you are underage, be honest and make sure the board members know this. Even a minor writing smut with another minor is illegal, and will absolutely not be tolerated on this board. A longer explanation can be found here.
{EXCESSIVE LANGUAGE}
The staff is not against swearing and other 'bad language' used within the roleplay world. Even so, continuous swearing with little or no roleplay-based reason can easily become offensive. Use cursing only to punctuate your sentences, if that is how you perceive your character to communicate. Out of character, keep your language PG. If you have an issue with anybody's language, contact a member of staff and we will take care of it.
{PUNCTUATION}
In-character posts must be novel-style. Third person, past tense, with appropriate punctuation. Quotations must be put around what your character is saying. If you must make an out-of-character remark in an in-character post, label it as such. Recommended methods are double parantheses, double brackets, or a simple 'OOC:' before the words. When a character exits a thread, write [exit CHARACTER NAME at the end of the post. If every character has exited, write [DEAD] at the bottom of the last post so the staff knows to move it.
{POWERGAMING AND METAGAMING}
Roleplayers 'powergame' by making characters that are excessively strong, powerful, and even invincible. Your character can be talented, can be stronger than most, faster than most, smarter than most, but they must be realistic. There are no Superman characters here. Of course, Vampire characters will be stronger and faster, but even they are not invincible.
Metagaming is when you use out-of-character information in-character. For example, you may know that a certain character is allergic to cinnamon, but your character cannot know that unless the other character has told them personally. Unless otherwise discussed with the roleplayer, assume that your character does not know anything specific about the other characters they meet.
{CHARACTER LIFE CHANGES}
All of these things are inevitable in this roleplay world. They also cannot happen without staff approval. If your character is taking another character as a mate (the feline equivalent of marriage), is falling pregnant or impregnating another character, is changing Tribe allegiance, is going to die, and/or is going to Transition into a Vampire, you must speak with a staff member for approval first. Similarly, if you wish to apply for a canonically Jellicle character as a Hench Vampire or stray, you must get staff approval first.
{CHARACTER RESERVATION}
Posting an in-progress application will reserve that character for you. If you do not finish the application within 48 hours, another member may apply for that character. If you cannot finish within 48 hours, but still wish to reserve that character, speak to a staff member for an extension.
{ACTIVITY AND GOING AWAY}
You must post in-character at least once a week. A week without in-character activity will result in a three-day suspension when you return. If you cannot meet this expectation, alert a member of staff and any thread you are involved in will be put on hold. Life happens, inspiration is fickle. If you are gone for two weeks without warning, your canon characters will be put back up for availability.
{GENERAL ROLEPLAY RULES}
{MYSTIC CHARACTERS}
There will be no mystic powers on this board other than the powers that come with Vampirism. The mysticism displayed at the Jellicle Ball (Quaxo/Mistoffeeless and, to a lesser extent, Coricopat, Tantomile, and Jemima) was due to the intervention of the Everlasting Cat, and only ever happens that one night out of the year.
