Name: Delphine
Gender: Female
Age: 450-460, appears to be an adult in her late twenties
Allegiance: Hench
Family: A mother, a father, and two younger brothers. Dead and buried, as far as she knows. The Henches are her family now.
Appearance: Delphine is a colorpoint cat, perhaps some sort of Birman mix given her French heritage. Her body is a dark cream color, with chocolaty brown on her limbs and splashed across her face. She has a blaze of lighter cream on her chest, forming a sort of bib, and a cream tip on her chocolate tail. Her fur is of average length, with a neatly groomed mane and a silky tail. Her face is somehow both open and intimidating, with angled sky-blue eyes, a turned-up nose, and a slightly lopsided mouth that looks like a half-smile even when she is asleep.
Personality: Delphine is an idealist and an organizer, driven to implement her vision of what is best for others. She acts as a catalyst for growth because of her ability to see potential in others and her charisma in persuading others to her ideas. She is focused on values and vision, and is passionate about the possibilities for others. She is energetic and driven, and often has a lot on her place. She is tuned into the needs of others and acutely aware of suffering; however, she is optimistic and forward-thinking, intuitively seeing opportunity for improvement. She is ambitious, but her ambition is not self-serving. Rather, she feels personally responsible for making the world a better place.
Delphine is driven by a deep sense of altruism and empathy for others. She has an intuitive sense of the emotions of others, and often acts as an emotional barometer for those around her. However, her compassion is reserved for those close to her. While she is humanitarian in nature, her time spent in seclusion after her Transition, as well as her time with Macavity, have heavily skewed her views against felines. She tends to personally experience the feelings of others in an extreme form of empathy, and feels compelled to act when she sees others suffering. She wants close, supportive connections with others, and believes that cooperation is the best way to get things done. She likes to be liked and is very sensitive to feedback, both positive and negative. She expects the best not just from herself, but from others as well, and finds herself disappointed when others are not as genuine in their intentions as she is. She works hard to maintain strong relationships, and strives to be a valuable member of her society.
Delphine is a natural teacher, and tends to take charge of a situation and guide a group towards activities and experiences which will help them learn and grow. She intuitively sees the potential in others, and with charisma and warmth, she encourages others to pursue greater development of their strengths. She is dynamic and productive, and often visibly energized when leading others to discover new knowledge. She is a great communicator, talented at using words to connect with others. She is perceptive about others and enjoys talking about relationships. She often enjoys helping others solve personal problems and likes to share her insights about others, their emotions, and their motivations. She is empathetic, sometimes to the point of being over-involved, and becomes exhausted if she is surrounded by too much negative emotion.
History: Delphine has heard so many Vampires' stories that the details of her own are blurry to her. She does remember being born in France in the mid-1500s, the first child of a couple who had been having difficulties conceiving. She remembers her mother giving birth to twin boys when she was in her teens, and she put off marriage and a family of her own to help her aging parents raise the rambunctious toddlers.
She believes she was turned in her late twenties. A traveler was staying near her family home, and she would sit with him outside her family's den almost every day while he shared stories of the places he'd been. She remembers how entrancing he was, how much he knew, how much he loved hearing about her life with her family. He attacked her a couple of weeks after his arrival, in the solitude of the forest behind her family's den. She would have bled out and died if he had not fed her his blood at the last possible moment.
She awoke hours later to find him gone, a horrible hunger tearing through her body. Her first feed was a neighboring tom, a widower who often joined her family for meals. She doesn't remember if she killed him. She's not sure if she ever knew. Her brothers found her drinking from him, and the neighborhood was upon her before she knew what was happening. Running was the only think she could think to do. She returned to her home some weeks later, feral and full of regret. Her brothers chased her off once more.
Knowing that she would never be able to return home, she spent the next few centuries travelling around Europe. It was only a couple of months before she met another Vampire, a century-old dame who helped her control her hunger and her violent urges and taught her how to blend in among the felines. She cannot remember why they parted ways. She had a number of Vampire companions throughout the years, always looking to gather as many as she could and build a community. Through all that, she found a talent for aiding newborn Vampires through their difficult Transitions. Eventually, she stopped looking for a community and began to focus on helping newborns.
Her path eventually brought her to London in the late 1800s, where the infamous Macavity found her almost instantly. He'd been on the lookout for any Vampire that set foot in the city. He explained to her his desire to form a tribe of Vampires, and she could not think of anything better. Now, she works closely with him, helping the newborn Vampires of the tribe through their Transitions. She has known Macavity longer than anybody in the tribe, and enjoys something akin to a friendship with the Hidden Paw.
